Position summary
Andrews Academy (AA) is seeking an Administrative Assistant who will serve as a key support professional in the daily operations of the school. This individual is responsible for maintaining efficient office operations, facilitating communication among students, parents, faculty, and staff, and supporting administrative functions. As a first point of contact, the Administrative Assistant represents the school with professionalism, warmth, and a commitment to the mission:

Qualifications summary
- High school diploma required; college coursework preferred
- Previous office or administrative experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email, scheduling systems)
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Office Operations & Communication
- Serve as the primary receptionist, greeting students, parents, faculty, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Provide accurate information regarding school programs, schedules, and policies
- Answer and direct phone calls; respond to emails and general inquiries
- Manage office and school calendars, appointments, and scheduling
Student Services & Records
- Support student registration processes/admissions, including applications, re-enrollment, and documentation.
- Assist with maintaining and updating databases (e.g., FACTS, Banner).
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and school documentation as needed.
- Assist with attendance records.
- Take and record payments for trips, etc.
Administrative Support
- Perform general clerical duties including filing, copying, data entry, and recordkeeping.
- Assist in planning and executing school events such as Check-in Day, Academy Day, Grad Brunch, orientation, leadership conferences, trips and tours.
- Support development of school-related projects and initiatives.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to the principal, leadership team, as well as faculty/staff.
Marketing & Communication Support
- Assist with school website updates and social media communication.
- Maintain the school website.
- Lead and coordinate communication efforts with families and the broader school community, including preparing and distributing a twice-weekly emailed newsletter during the school year and periodically during the summer.
Additional Responsibilities
- Supervise student workers as assigned.
- Assist with campus tours and visitor engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal.
Supervisory responsibilities
May supervise student worker(s) and assist in coordinating office support activities.

Technical competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace
- Experience with databases such as FACTS and Banner preferred
- Ability to operate office equipment (copiers, scanners, printers, etc.)
- Familiarity with basic image or website editing tools preferred

Physical demands
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform routine office tasks
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to move around campus as needed (e.g., tours, deliveries)
Work environment
The work environment is primarily an office setting within a school environment. The position requires frequent interaction with students, parents, and faculty/staff and will involve occasional event support beyond standard office duties.
