In fall 2025, WISE launched its new Pre-Health Pathway, designed to prepare students for future studies in medicine, nursing and allied health. Andrews President John Wesley Taylor reported growing student engagement in mission and service, including evangelistic campaigns in Malawi that resulted in over 3,000 baptisms. The University welcomed its largest incoming class since before the pandemic and climbed nearly 80 places in national rankings. The event was held Nov. 24, which offered students an opportunity to participate in hands-on service projects. Volunteers dispersed across Benton Harbor to support three community-centered service efforts. They raked leaves for senior citizens, distributed care packages and organized at a local community center. Following the service portion, students and community members gathered for a community chapel at the Benton Harbor Salvation Army. The funds will be used to create a two-year summer internship program for Andrews STEM students. Matías Soto, director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, shares that the initiative will support five student interns in the summer of 2026 and seven student interns in the summer of 2027. The grant was received in partnership with enFocus, an organization that coordinates innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives in the South Bend-Elkhart region of Indiana.  <<< Read the full story at the Lake Union Herald <a href="https://www.lakeunionherald.org/archive/articles/andrews-university-receives-hunter-foundation-grant">site</a> >>> Thu, 20 Nov 2025 15:25:07 +0000 Christmas Behind Bars at Andrews University http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/68569 On Sunday, Oct. 26, approximately 380 volunteers discovered that by diligently working together, in 190 minutes they could assemble 8,200 care packages for people in prison. That’s one bag every 1.4 seconds.  The packing event was held in Johnson Gym on the campus of Andrews University and was organized by Pioneer Memorial Church and Andrews University in partnership with the ministry of Christmas Behind Bars and its president Lemual Vega.
