Klingbeil, DLitt, as its new rector during a formal ceremony held in the Friedensau Chapel. The University Senate had elected Klingbeil in Feb. 2026, with subsequent confirmation by the Board of Trustees. The leadership transition officially took effect on Oct. 1, 2026, marking the commencement of the 2026–2027 academic year. Klingbeil succeeds Professor Roland E. Fischer, PhD, who completed a ten-year tenure following the conclusion of his second regular term on Sept. 30, 2026. A recording of the official handover ceremony is accessible via YouTube. ... Born in Berlin in 1964, Klingbeil completed his theological studies in Austria, South Africa, and the United States, culminating in a Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Stellenbosch. His academic career includes appointments as professor of Old Testament at both the Universidad Peruana Unión in Peru and the Universidad Adventista del Plata in Argentina, followed by his role as dean of the Theological Seminary at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in the Philippines. From 2009 onward, he served as associate editor of the international publications Adventist Review and Adventist World while holding a professorship in Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the Andrews University Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. In 2023, he returned to Germany to assume the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Hanseatic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. His scholarly portfolio encompasses extensive international publications, research institute memberships, and academic advisory board roles. Snyder was born and raised in the Berrien Springs area, having been born at the old Berrien General Hospital and growing up on a 67-acre fruit farm on Hinchman Road in Oronoko Township. She works at Berrien RESA where she is the student talent consultant. Snyder said she wears two hats at Berrien RESA, serving as both the student activities coordinator and the Math & Science Center consultant. “One part of my role involves coordinating student events across Berrien County, including the Cloverleaf Spelling Contest, the Science Olympiad, and Community Student Art Exhibitions, among other events,” she said. “My primary responsibility, however, is serving as the program coordinator for the Berrien RESA Math & Science Center, located on the campus of Andrews University,” she added. The Math & Science Center is a half-day STEM program serving high school students from Berrien and Cass counties. Students spend half of their school day taking classes taught by Andrews University instructors in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related courses. General vice president Thomas Lemon will retire in 2027. The General Conference (GC) Executive Committee voted to elect Remmers, and he will take on his new responsibilities immediately. Remmers brings more than three decades of pastoral ministry and administrative leadership to the role, having served the Seventh-day Adventist Church at the local church, conference, union, and division levels. Most recently, he has served since January 1, 2022, as assistant to the president of the North American Division (NAD).   ... The Biblical Research Institute (BRI) held the Conference with scholars from Andrews University and the Ellen G. White Estate. Church elders and members were invited to attend the first two days, while pastors from all three countries attended the final two days. During the Lake Union’s “Unbreakable” Pathfinder Camporee, held Sept. 24 to 27 at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds, leaders announced Whitehead’s retirement after more than four decades of ministry devoted largely to children, youth and young adults.  ... Whitehead has served Lake Union youth ministries since 1996.
