The ensemble made history as the Grand Prize winner of the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition—the first wind quintet to earn the honor in nearly 30 years—and also received First Prize at the Frances Walton Chamber Music Competition. Formed at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, ZaRiah’s members have performed internationally and with some of the world’s leading orchestras and ensembles. Dedicated to musical excellence and accessibility, the group is passionate about creating engaging performances while expanding access to chamber music in underserved communities. Trynchuk, faculty member at Andrews University, has performed internationally as soloist and recitalist in more than 15 countries. Braslavsky, formerly a faculty member at The Juilliard School and the Mannes School of Music, currently serves on the piano faculty of the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Trynchuk and Braslavsky were classmates together at The Juilliard School. Influenced by the island music, you can hear his love of reggae, R&B, and the sounds of his teenage years in bands such as Boys II Men.
